TIDNOCK FARM RIDE – TERMS & CONDITIONS

Welcome to Tidnock Farm Ride.

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of Tidnock Farm Ride, including the purchase and use of day passes, memberships, and access to the farm ride and associated facilities.

By purchasing a pass, membership, or accessing Tidnock Farm Ride, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
 

1. ABOUT US

Tidnock Farm Ride is a private equestrian farm ride operating from Tidnock Farm, a working family-run beef and arable farm located in Cheshire.

Tidnock Farm Ride provides private horse riding access across designated routes on privately owned land.

Tidnock Farm remains an active working farm at all times.
 

2. ACCEPTANCE OF RISK

Horse riding and equestrian activities are inherently dangerous and involve significant risk.

These risks include, but are not limited to:

  • falls from horses

  • horse behavioural unpredictability

  • loose horses

  • collisions

  • uneven ground

  • rabbit holes

  • mud

  • wet/slippery surfaces

  • tree roots

  • branches

  • gates

  • fencing

  • livestock interaction

  • farm vehicles

  • machinery

  • changing weather conditions

  • natural obstacles

  • hidden hazards

By entering and using Tidnock Farm Ride, you acknowledge and accept these risks in full.

You ride entirely at your own risk.
 

3. ELIGIBILITY TO RIDE

All riders must:

  • be competent and confident riders

  • be physically capable of safely controlling their horse

  • use suitable tack and equipment

  • ensure their horse is fit, healthy, and suitable for riding

  • comply with all farm rules

Tidnock Farm Ride reserves the right to refuse access to any rider at any time where safety concerns exist.

No refund will be due where access is refused for legitimate safety concerns.
 

4. HELMETS & SAFETY EQUIPMENT

All riders must wear:

  • a correctly fitted riding helmet meeting recognised safety standards

Appropriate footwear must be worn.

Suitable riding clothing is strongly recommended.

Body protectors are recommended but remain the rider’s personal decision unless otherwise specified.
 

5. HORSE RESPONSIBILITY

Riders are fully responsible for their horse at all times.

This includes:

  • behaviour

  • control

  • health

  • tack

  • temperament

  • suitability

Aggressive, dangerous, unmanageable, or unsafe horses must not be brought onto the property.

Tidnock Farm Ride reserves the right to require immediate removal of any horse deemed unsafe.
 

6. DAY PASSES

Day passes provide access for:

one rider, one horse, for one day only.

Day passes are:

  • non-transferable

  • non-refundable unless legally required

  • valid only for the purchaser unless otherwise agreed

Proof of purchase may be requested.
 

7. MEMBERSHIPS

Monthly memberships provide access in accordance with the membership purchased.

Memberships are:

  • personal

  • non-transferable

  • subject to ongoing payment

  • subject to these Terms

Sharing memberships is strictly prohibited.

Tidnock Farm Ride reserves the right to suspend or terminate memberships where misuse occurs.
 

8. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

Unless otherwise required by law:

Day passes are non-refundable.

Membership payments are non-refundable once charged.

No refunds will be issued for:

  • poor weather

  • rider illness

  • horse illness

  • personal schedule changes

  • dissatisfaction where services remain available

  • failure to attend

Where Tidnock Farm Ride closes access due to safety or operational reasons, reasonable discretion may be applied.
 

9. WEATHER & CLOSURES

Tidnock Farm Ride may close at any time due to:

  • unsafe weather

  • flooding

  • ice

  • extreme mud

  • storm damage

  • livestock management

  • maintenance

  • operational reasons

  • safety concerns

Closure decisions are final.

Riders must not access closed routes.
 

10. WORKING FARM ENVIRONMENT

Tidnock Farm is an active working farm.

You may encounter:

  • cattle

  • tractors

  • trailers

  • farm machinery

  • workers

  • livestock handling

  • agricultural activity

All riders must remain vigilant.

Farm operations take priority at all times.

Do not approach livestock.

Do not interfere with farm operations.
 

11. CONDUCT RULES

Riders must:

  • behave responsibly

  • respect other riders

  • respect the farm

  • follow signage

  • follow route instructions

  • remain on designated routes

  • close gates where instructed

  • avoid reckless riding

  • maintain safe control of their horse

The following are prohibited:

  • dangerous riding

  • racing

  • aggressive behaviour

  • abusive language

  • harassment

  • damaging property

  • entering restricted areas

  • interfering with livestock

  • littering

Access may be terminated immediately for breaches.
 

12. CHILDREN / MINORS

Riders under 11 must be supervised by a responsible adult of at least 16 years of age.

Parents/guardians accept full responsibility.

Tidnock Farm Ride reserves the right to impose age restrictions where necessary.
 

13. DOGS

Dogs are strictly prohibited at Tidnock Farm Ride.

This is a working farm with livestock, horses, farm vehicles, and active agricultural operations, and dogs may create unnecessary safety risks for riders, horses, livestock, staff, and visitors.

Customers must not bring dogs onto the property under any circumstances unless expressly authorised by Tidnock Farm Ride management.

Any customer arriving with a dog may be refused access without refund.
 

14. VEHICLES & PARKING

Vehicles are parked entirely at owner’s risk.

Tidnock Farm Ride accepts no responsibility for:

  • theft

  • damage

  • collisions

  • breakdowns

  • trailer incidents

Drivers must park responsibly.

Blocking access routes is prohibited.
 

15. PROPERTY DAMAGE

Customers are fully liable for damage caused by:

  • themselves

  • their horse

  • their vehicle

  • associated persons

This includes damage to:

  • fencing

  • gates

  • signage

  • structures

  • land

  • equipment

Repair costs may be charged.
 

16. PERSONAL PROPERTY

All personal property is brought entirely at owner’s risk.

Tidnock Farm Ride accepts no responsibility for:

  • lost items

  • stolen items

  • damaged equipment

  • tack

  • valuables
     

17. ACCIDENTS & INCIDENTS

All accidents, falls, injuries, or incidents must be reported immediately.

Emergency services may be contacted where necessary.

Failure to report incidents may affect follow-up action.
 

18. MEDICAL FITNESS

Riders confirm they are medically fit to ride.

Do not ride if impaired by:

  • alcohol

  • drugs

  • medication

  • illness

  • injury

  • fatigue affecting safety
     

19. BIOSECURITY & HORSE HEALTH

Do not bring horses with:

  • infectious illness

  • suspected contagious conditions

  • unsafe health concerns

Riders are responsible for their horse’s health compliance.
 

20. LIABILITY

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is unlawful.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tidnock Farm Ride shall not be liable for:

  • injury arising from inherent equestrian risks

  • rider negligence

  • horse behaviour

  • property loss

  • vehicle damage

  • personal equipment damage

  • business interruption

  • indirect losses

Customers remain responsible for their own safety and decisions.
 

21. RIGHT TO REMOVE ACCESS

Tidnock Farm Ride reserves the right to:

  • refuse entry

  • remove riders

  • suspend access

  • cancel memberships

where safety, misconduct, misuse, or operational concerns arise.
 

22. CCTV

CCTV may operate for:

  • security

  • safety

  • incident investigation

By entering the property, you acknowledge this.
 

23. PRIVACY

Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
 

24. CHANGES TO ROUTES / SERVICES

Tidnock Farm Ride may alter:

  • routes

  • facilities

  • access arrangements

  • operating procedures

without prior notice where necessary.
 

25. FORCE MAJEURE

Tidnock Farm Ride shall not be liable for closures or interruptions caused by events beyond reasonable control.

Including:

  • severe weather

  • flooding

  • fire

  • disease outbreaks

  • agricultural emergencies

  • utility failures

  • government restrictions
     

26. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Payment & Subscription

We strive to provide a seamless equestrian experience at Tidnock Farm Ride. Our payment structures are designed to be simple and transparent to ensure our focus remains on providing a safe and scenic journey for every rider.

  • Single Farm Ride: £10 per session, payable at booking to secure your time slot.
  • Monthly Subscription: £25 per month for unlimited access to our trail network.
  • Cancellation Policy: 24 hours' notice is required for any session cancellation to receive a credit.
  • Billing Cycles: Subscriptions are billed automatically each month and can be managed through our portal.
  • Liability Waiver: All riders must accept our terms and conditions prior to riding on the farm property.
  • Non-Refundability: Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable once the active period has commenced.
